Hello Everyone,

I am currently undertaking a research project with Assumption University on foreign teachers who are working in Thailand, in particular in relation to those who work in the high school system.

This survey will be posted on any bulletin boards that cater to foreign teachers in Thailand.

The aim of the research is to discover the best ways to motivate teachers so that they participate in some kind of professional development program and what some of the benefits of such a program might be.

All data collected will be confidential, in fact you don’t even have to use your real name, however I will need to interview some respondents so a real email address or contact number would be appreciated. It would also be easier for me if all respondents were located in Bangkok.

The report will be read by the Thai ministry of education and I hope might stimulate some kind of recognized professional development program that would benefit all foreign teachers.

To the original poster: welcome to Thai Visa and all that, but it's really hard to reply to your survey online. I spent about twenty minutes trying to clean it up, and look what we've got. You'll be lucky to get a large enough sample (here or anywhere else), it's questionable how accurate the answers will be, etc. Good luck.

I'd also like to see some form of real identification (you can pm me with your details, especially including an email address or office contact at Assumption) if you'd like this survey to stand on this forum, otherwise I'm going to consider it spam and remove it.

Perhaps 'Researcher' is a spy for the Thai Visa authorities to see how many teachers out there are working without degrees/qualifications!If you are for real PM me too with the details.Who is your lecturer?I'm sure many teachers would like to participate in professional development sessions or training seminars to improve teaching practices, curriculum development, classroom management, methadology etc etc etc. There is a definite lack of this happening in Bangkok and professional development seems to be isolated to those schools which have the money and resources to train their teachers in certain specific areas.

Good luck in your quest, the e-mail you supplied bounced my message.
