Chiang Mai provincial administration and a network of civic groups opposing the Doi Suthep housing project for judges and officials of Region 5 Appeals Court agreed at a meeting today that the 45  housing units for judges must be immediately vacated.

As for those who are still staying at a nine-unit condominium building, the meeting agreed that they must be moved to a four-unit condominium building within a set timeframe and if the space in the four-unit building is not adequate to accommodate the occupants, then more space should be arranged for them.

The controversial  housing units and the condominium building must be returned to the Treasury Department as quick as possible.

Can I really believe this?

Just watch what will happen.

This "Set Time Frame" is so that the courts need to find a way to pay off the locals while appeasing those out side of the area that get nothing.

Disconnect the water and electricity ?

Good idea ........ Unfortunately  due to a recent change in the law you need a court injunction to stop utilities to a dwelling . Can't see the judges  agreeing to that proposal

I have a feeling that the powers that be agreed to this just to try stop the gathering on August 26th. The complex is there to stay and so are it's residents.

The August 26 protest has not been cancelled, and won't be if the housing hasn't been vacated.

Easy, protestors pay the cops to blow up the water and electric supply systems.
