This year, the Raining Season has been CANCELLED, due to the Super-Dooper El Nino we are all experiencing this year.

This season will be drier in SE Asia, and probably in India, as well.

Then, as the warm water begins travelling back where it should be, next year, we should expect record high surface temperatures in 2027.

Just had a 4 day break in Koh Chang. Was expecting bad weather but had no rain and sun on most days.

Bureau predicts rain thunder storm next Thursday 4/5pm...thats it☔😛!

I reckon you'd be a Pom, most of the Poms I've met, always complaining about the rain.

Thailand and its rainy season is the best, washing everything down, etc. The downpour only lasts a short while.

No indication of this year but in past from last week in October to first two weeks of November.

I'd say the cool starts more December, January.

Cool season has started in Mukdahan for the last few weeks, cooler and rain.

Hopefully a bumper year for the 20 ry of rice.

Have to start to get the log gas fire dusted off. :)

Usually about mid-November, but the El-Nino might keep temperatures high this "cool" season.

Forgetting about the problems rain every day causes, along with the traffic and road insanity here. I feel safer on a motorcycle in the US than in a tank here, and the Cheesecake in the US is superlative.

The rainy season hasn't started in Pattaya from my observations

in any case there are only 3 seasons in Thailand

Hot season

Bloody hotter season

and Hot but wet and humid-er season

sometimes at the end of the year temperatures an get down to a bone chilling 25 degrees centigrade for a couple of days 😋

And of course those living 'up north' (the slow way) in the mountains will have lower lower temperatures on occasion

top of Doi Inthanon @ 2,565 meters sometimes gets down to 0 !!

I thought the rainy season started around end of October, and went through to December, even January.

First cool evening is usually Loy Krathong, you feel it coming home on the bike.

I gauge the seasons in Thailand by the amount of sweat flowing down my as- crack when walking.

It now seems to change yearly as before we knew that it would rain every day at 3:30-4pm clearing the beaches and lasting only a couple of hours. Many years ago it would be poring rain most days during the season, but it’s a hit and a miss now. Even last year we had a lot of rain during the winter season. So you really never know. I enjoy it being overcast and a bit cooler.

The rainy season in Pattaya doesn't "end" as such, it fades out during Oct/Nov. More likely to get thunderstorms than protracted cloud.

As for temperature, overnight starts to come down late Nov but daytime can still be quite high. At the end of the day it is all about personal perception.

Whilst the rainy season was certainly delayed this year - undoubtedly because of El Nino - we've had over 80 mm of rain so far this week, my pond has been topped up to its overflow pipe and the ground is waterlogged so I can't agree with your "cancelled" assessment.

I just laid my new 250 sqm grass a week ago, just south of Pattaya.

Hasn't rained since..

Come on, big guy upstairs, I'm just about doing a traditional indian rain dance..

Just a little rain would be much appreciated, Sir.

Where is that? In Huay Yai (20 min south of Pattaya) it hasn't rained for a week.. Zip, nothing.

But, of course, you realize that when we say that a region will experience a much drier season, this does not mean that ALL local areas will not experience more precipitation than normal.

Sept-Oct heaviest of the rainy season but it can rain through November too - and has in recent years (November in BKK not sure about Pattaya)

Nakhon Sawan is experiencing the driest and hottest rain season I can remember in 25 years. Humidity is off the scale most days.
