I read that the main road between the two towns was washed out early this morning in three different places, and that maintenance teams had been dispatched to the area, but I wondered if anybody had any more updated information? I have to make the journey on Monday morning.

Did you read the thread here with the detour suggestions?

From the situation seen it is very clear that this road #118 will not be passable until Monday morning.
