Thai and foreign tourists evacuated the Siwalai City Place hotel yesterday evening after a fire broke out in a second floor room.

Firefighters on the scene in Soi 17 Talat Sophon, South Pattaya had the blaze under control within 30 minutes.

The inside was gutted with damage put at 500,000 baht.

INN said that an initial investigation was pointing the finger of blame at a short circuit.
