Senators Demand Answers Senators Sheldon Whitehouse and Martin Heinrich have urged the Interior Department's inspector general to launch an immediate investigation into the origins of the vandalism narrative. In a letter, the lawmakers questioned whether Interior officials misled President Donald Trump or whether the claim originated inside the White House itself.
