The pro–junta Palang Pracharat Party is getting a major boost after a group of politicians and former MPs of the so-called “Sam Mitr” group are on the verge of joining it, thus making it a formidable political party in the upcoming election.

Suriya Juangroongruangkit, a veteran politician and a key leader of the group, estimated that about 70 members of the group will run under the banner of Palang Pracharat Party in the election.  Suriya’s confirmation on Thursday dispelled earlier doubts about the group’s readiness to join hands with the party.

Let me get this straight, I'm not always the brightest on these topics.

The group who went around the country as "Sam Mitr" recruiting politicians from any previous party or group to their nebulous cause that was not a political party are now all joining a political party that supports the current incumbents.

I am shocked !!! They appear to have avoided playing party politics when it was illegal and now are playing party politics. Do they have no morals??

You have it in a nutshell! As for morals; has anyone known the junta and it's leaders to ever have any morals? Their allegiance is to themselves and the almighty baht.
