A speeding pickup truck with seven young people exited a curve on an Amnart Charoen road and hit a traffic light pole, a tree and a pole, killing four and severely injuring three, police said.

The Muang Amnart Charoen police station was alerted of the accident at 2.30am on the bypass road near an intersection.

Tyre traces indicated that the four-door pickup hit the traffic light pole and spun before hitting a roadside tree and again spinning, and then crashing against a traffic-sign pole.

One passenger was hurled out of the pickup and killed.

Three others were killed inside the pickup.

Rescuers had to use iron cutters to remove the bodies, along with the three injured passengers, from the wreckage.

Killed were Thiraphat Meesang, 18, Chettha Suwamart, 16, Saksit Yuenyong, 22, and Kanchana Khampan, 18.

The injured were identified as Nanthakorn Traiwong, 23, Suchart Samathong, 22, and Banthit Wangphol, 18.

Police said the pickup was driven by Suchart, who was apparently not familiar with the road. He sped into the curve, causing the truck to run off the road and crash.

I think its far more precise to say he wasn't familiar with driving skills and the proper temperament. Knowing the road is unnecessary if you are trained properly.

All this carnage of young Thai males dying while not a single cop on the road to enforce the law, oops, I forgot there is no law regarding speeding in Thailand, its all rego checks before months end to get the figures to an acceptable level for the boys upstairs to dig in and then pass some chow down the line.

That is the default setting here, I've noticed.

4 modes in Thailand..

1. Full retard + DUI
2. Full retard + wet + DUI
3. Full retard + wet + dark + DUI

4. Full Darwin + full retard + wet + dark + no lights + DUI + road rage
