BANGKOK, 1st November 2018 (NNT) - The deputy prime minister in charge of national security, has stressed that the Election Commission has the responsibility to keep an eye on all activities of Action Coalition for Thailand Party.

Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Gen. Prawit Wongsuwon said on Wednesday that people had the right to express their opinions when they saw a street movement by the Action Coalition for Thailand Party, led by Mr. Suthep Thaugsuban, which has faced some opposition.

Gen. Prawit said that the Action Coalition for Thailand Party is allowed to recruit members and meet the people while the National Council for Peace and Order does not have the authority to get involved.

He added that the EC may have to hold a discussion with the party leader about how to handle any protest against them, if such a situation ever occurs again.

The DPM also commented on the lifting of a ban on political activities and said that the Prime Minister will be looking into the matter as there is already a plan to invite leaders of political parties to a talk about it sometime, at the end of November or the beginning of December.

Gen. Prawit added that the responsible agency is looking into the rap song containing lyrics mentioning the ownership of luxury watches, while he chose not to listen to.

In addition, the DPM offered his condolences to family members, at the passing of Mr. Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, owner of the King Power duty free empire, after his private helicopter crashed in England; he declined to comment on suggestions that Mr. Vichai had been one of major supporters of the current government.

Oh no...his lips are moving again. Sounds like the rappers are not out of the spotlight yet.

ACT.

Another wolf in sheep's clothing.

Nothing up their sleeves.

Seeing the once mighty Suthep humiliated and heckled in his recent attempt to enlist memberships, the EC will do him a big favour to disqualify ACT. Put him and his party out of misery and a humiliating defeat in the election.

Personally, I would laugh until my socks fall off were "the once mighty Suthep" to suffer a humiliating defeat. The more heckling the better.

I would not laugh to hard, Suthep is no mug, he will have multiple back up plans, and no doubt is privy to too much information to be cut out. He will get his cut of the loot one way or another, he did not lead the protests for moral and ethical reasons against amnesty and corruption, that is for sure. He has plenty of chips to cash.

Frankly, I might second guess his proposed mightiness and popularity as they once were.

That was largely made up from surface propaganda. Don't believe he had the favoured following as it has been suggested.

Typical Thai charlatan snake in the grass - regardless of the presence that he promotes himself to be. Folks don't forget so easily.

After jail time, the usual and falsely-humbled stay at the Wat, publicly shamed, etc - yet still attempts to hold on to any remaining quasi-elite standing.

Where's his comfortable income derive from these days?
