Stranger Things season 3 plot spoilers hint at dark twists for the gang and a major comeback

Beyond the teasers from the cast that have told us how Stranger Things season 3 will be the "biggest", "grossest", most risk-taking season yet, the actual plot has been kept tightly under wraps.

 

We know that the third season will further explore the mythology of the Upside Down and we've also been told that it won't be all dark, with producer Shawn Levy teasing that it will feature "plenty of summer fun AND light" too.

 

But now, some plot spoilers courtesy of the Netflix series' official companion book, Stranger Things: Worlds Turned Upside Down means we have a bit more of an idea of what to expect when the show returns.
