101 motorcyclists arrested in road racing crackdown

By The Nation

Police arrested 101 motorcyclists on Friday night after their motorcycles were found to have been illegally modified for road racing.

In a weekly crackdown on road racing, police from the Metropolitan Police Division 7 set up checkpoints on roads in the division's jurisdiction and made the arrests.

Traffic police chief Pol Maj Gen Nithithorn Jintakanon told a press conference at the Metropolitan Police Division 7, that 63 of the arrested were under 18.

He said police also seized 111 illegally modified motorcycles, and 16 of them were big-bike motorcycles.

He said police also checked 30 motorcycle repair shops in the division's area and seized four exhaust pipes that would emit noises louder than the legal limit of 96 dB.

How would he know that, did they actually mount these pipes on a bike and test the noise level with a dB meter?

Hopefull they arrested the ''Naked Guns'' I don't want to ever see that image again..

They just go Pattaya for buy it

you need national crackdown if you want fix this

Confiscate the bikes, fit legal exhaust systems and auction off the bikes. The problem will soon sort itself out.

Should they also crash the cars of drivers who blatantly break the laws all the time?

I think especially about all those smart phone users who think they can drive while they play with their phone.

that would ease the worries about increasing traffic congestion significantly, may however cause a fall in metal prices.

Again? The authorities making their usual "noises" but there are no deterrent punishments happening! The "boy racers" will continue the practice and take their chances.

Just another ho hum event!

Fear not the new year thinning out is nearly upon us and numbers will be dramatically reduced ????

Why not ?   It would give us law abiding people a lot more safe space to drive in legally !
