US scouts Bangkok, Hanoi and Hawaii as possible locations for Kim-Trump summit

Washington (CNN)Bangkok, Hanoi and Hawaii have been visited by White House scouting teams as they search for a location for a potential second summit between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and President Donald Trump, according to a source familiar with the planning process.

 

On Sunday, Trump said that the US is "negotiating a location" for a second summit with Kim and the two had spoken "indirectly."

 

The US has not decided on a top pick and the list, which could expand, has not yet been presented to the North Koreans. There have not been any meetings between the US and North Korean officials in these locations yet, according to the source.

I'll bet anyone 10 bahts that it's not Bangkok. What, with its pollution and the chance of a remote cabinet convey barrelling its way round the next corner . . . it wouldn't be good.

 DMZ will be a suitable location that is if Trump is as courageous as he brags.

A "summit" so two people can talk with each other?

Don't they know what a video call is?

The perfect spot would be the rotunda at Nana Plaza.

As a rallying centre for people with dictatorial proclivities, Thailand might be quite suitable!

How about a remote island somewhere?

They can meet and talk and after they finished they can publish the agreements which they made.

There is no need to see them talking, shaking hands and making lots of noises of what they will do on camera.

lets hope it is Hawaii so Kim can get a look at the beautiful place he threaten to destroy.

Why not have it in North Korea, then Trump could see first hand the innocent people that he would be slaughtering as they don't have a clue what is going on ????

They can negotiate in a BKK taxi stuck in the traffic for four hours.

It WON'T be Hawaii as that's not neutral territory. Plus it might subject Kim to US law. Bangkok is a nightmare for traffic and heat. Best bet of the 3 proposed sites is Hanoi. Close enough to Kims home country, near to China, and a former enemy of the US. What could be more perfect. Doesn't really matter where they meet anyway. Nothing will come of it since both participants are serial liars, although for different reasons!

Nope, Pattaya as a world class resort would be the best spot...he can have a swim, tour in the bahtbus, see soi 6, have a somtam and all other highlights of Thailand are there.

The best place would be just inside the South Korean border, the security there would be huge !
