Top lawyer speaks: Better not to modify your vehicle (or mention a woman's chassis)

Daily News reported that a well-known online lawyer had given the Thai public the benefit of his knowledge of the law relating to the adapting of motor vehicles for unregistered purposes. 

 

It was the latest pronouncement after a series of posts last year that warned against all manner of misdemeanors including suggesting Thai women had small breasts. 

 

Decha Kittiwitthayanan posted a video on his online page "Thanai Khlai Thuk" (The lawyer that relieves your distress). 

 

Lawyer Decha - as he called himself - said that there were two laws promulgated in 1979 related to illegally adapting vehicles with accessories and modifications.

 

He specifically mentioned modifications that allow for more weight to be carried than is allowed. 

 

He said that any changes need to be certified by inspectors before they are deemed legal. 

 

Fines for one ordinance could be 2,000 baht but more serious infractions could cost you 5,000 baht. 

 

Doing a little bit of change might be okay but don't go the whole hog, he advised. 

 

His final pronouncement could be understood by all: "Don't break the law, that's best na khrap!"

 

The latest lawyer words come after a spate of "helpful online lawyer" posts reported by Daily News last year.

 

One called Worayuth Bunwongsai even cautioned the Thai public not to say that Thai women have small breasts as it could attract a 1,000 baht fine.

markets,have springs that would not be out of place on a 10 tonne truck.

Big leaf springs and 4 shocks on the rear.bet they have not done anything

with the brakes but.

got the universal joint replaced on my old pickup and had a look underneath while it was on the hoist. the complete chassis had been cut through and bolted together at some stage. bolts seemed to be doing their job however and was probably better  than trusting wields that leave metal heat stressed. I never carried much weight on it which was possibly my saving grace.

nor with the tyres and many other sensible parts of their vehicles..

My wife is getting fat so adding leaf springs to the pick up might be a good idea. ????????????

A good place to start would be the obsession here with modifying the exhausts on pick-ups and and those ridiculous 3 tail-pipe thing's seen on bigger commercial trucks because no matter how hard you try Diesel engines will never sound sporty .. And while they are it have a word  also about adjusting the turbo wastegate's ( sort of safety valve ) and the Injector pump maximum engine speed stop on big trucks and buses to give it that psssht sound when they lift off to change gear as it alters the fuelling requirements which is why you get the big puff of black smoke out of 'em when lifting off the accelerator to change gear .. and shortens engine life due to over-revving ..

Breasts; small, large, medium. All fat and glands and blood and skin with nipples. Take away the nipples and they would be fat and glands and blood and skin without nipples. Not nearly so nice.

There’s some truth to his mods warning. My bil installed wider series tires on his pick up and is a rolling atm at the highway checkpoints. They point him over every time and he either pays ฿200 or shows the receipt from the last 200 so they wave him on. Craziest thing in the world to me but I’m just happy he never asks me to pay and the bib don’t ask me any questions.

I recall when I was building my house I ordered river rocks and other pavement stones.

 

The total was estimated to be about 3 tonnes, and was delivered in a Toyota Vigo, which didn't show any signs of overloading.

 

Driver told me it could load 5 tonnes with ease

If the weight is such that the front wheels barely contact the road surface then controlling the vehicle is next to impossible.

Unfortunately, that sounds like your pickup was made from two other pickups that were written off in a crash. If one of the pickups had damage to the front and the other to the back, they cut off the bad ends and weld together the good ends to make one complete pickup with legal paperwork.
This is illegal in most countries since it's not really safe.

Would this be OK?
