A large but weak Himalayan griffon vulture has been found in a Krabi rubber plantation after poor weather on Monday. It’s believed to have come from Tibet.

The head of Phang Nga Breeding Centre, Teetat Damudom says, “The Himalayan griffon vulture was brought to us on Monday. The vulture was been found by locals at a rubber plantation in Khao Phanom, Krabi.”

“The vulture – measured wingtip to wingtip – is about two metres wide. It is weak from a lack of food and water.”

We have enough vultures running this country, no room for another.

Hold in detention, return it to Tibet at own cost and blacklist for ten years for entering the Kingdom illegally.

As pretty as some of the vultures I've come across.

yeah thats a cool looking bird. If I saw one I would burn through a memory card

Interesting, but not the first time this species recorded here!

Birds way out of normal ranges are not all that uncommon, really.

Storms, fronts, cyclones of all types can certainly be an understandable contributing factors. Sometimes it's just faulty navigational skills.

Regardless, very cool! Hope the bird recovers and is able to recalibrate it's compass and get back to more familiar territory!

Hopefull all its papers and visa's are in order,or mabey it is claiming assylum..The joke is watching!!

poor  thing  hope  it recovers and is  released,  at   least they had the decency to bring it  in

More likely it escaped from a small private zoo as a result of the storm. I have seen such private zoos all over Thailand.

Would that be a  Saudi  zoo?

Should feel at home with the rest of the vultures in Thailand
