Parents think she’s been taken but police believe otherwise

The parents of a 14-year-old schoolgirl missing for two weeks filed a complaint on Thursday with the Crime Suppression Division (CSD), saying they were convinced she had been kidnapped.

They said their daughter last used social media in Rayong province on December 28, the day after she vanished. A police source revealed, however, they had evidence the girl had taken extra clothes with her and was still alive in another province, having been taken by a man she knew.

The source said the girl had left a note, in which she complained of being tired and under tremendous stress from her family.

Her parents say they haven’t heard anything from either the girl or anyone with her since she left Sai Panya School in Bangkok in a tuk-tuk, according to CCTV footage, and disappeared. It appears her disappearance came after she chatted with someone on social media.

At first the family thought the studious girl, who had no boyfriend and hadn’t had a fight with any family member, might have run away to be with friends for the New Year holidays.

Although they initially filed a missing person report with the Plappachai 1 precinct, they had hoped she would return after the holidays but she never did. Her friends also insisted she wasn’t with any of them.

She's 14 - how does that not count as kidnapping?

If the police have this evidence, why aren't they urgently acting on it! Or have they asked the man if he'd mind popping into the Police Station at some future date, at his convenience, to discuss alleged "online grooming" and abduction of the girl?

Well - I imagine it's because the guy she is with is a member of the RTP or otherwise well connected enough to have them back off.

Did I read this correctly, police knows she is living with a man in another Province?

Is she not a minor and if the parents lodged a report why the police did not act?

No brown envelopes involved.
