Ceramic Pools

These are common fibreglass pool shells. Depending on who makes them and how they are handled they can be OK. They make up about 60-70% of the local (Western Australian) market.

You need to ask about fibreglass black spot, cobalt migration causing osmotic blistering. Not a structural problem but a cosmetic one that appears between 6 months and 3 years of the pool being installed. You little black dots all over the pool on top of little blisters. It does not happen if the correct fibreglass techniques are used, but that adds several hundred dollars to the manufacturing costs. In a segment of the industry that is price sensitive it can be significant.

From what I can read they are Aqua-Technics pools made in Western Australia. They make several ranges of pools so check. The price they are quoting seem a little high by Ausie standards, but may-be they have to pay the installers a lot.
