Six Chinese people have been arrested for begging across Bangkok, Thai immigration chief Pol Maj-General Surachet Hakpal told a press conference on Wednesday.

Huang Yunlin, 54, Huang Genhua, 30, Lei Fengjun, 44, Li Baishan, 47, Lin Yajun, 34, and Lai Meilin, 32, were arrested near Ari and On Nut Skytrain stations late last week.

They were charged for begging on the street, an offence under the Beggar Control Act 2016 which is punishable with up to one month in jail and a fine of Bt10,000.

Police found they were using tourist visas and reportedly over-staying for several months. They allegedly stayed together at a hotel in Soi Inthamara.

Police said they would bring large amounts of coins to change into notes at convenience stores in the area before splitting the proceeds among themselves at the hotel.

There are beggers all over Bangkok.

Will this endorse their love affair with Chinese tourists. Open another fast track lane for them at the airport I say.

They came with the zero dollar tours.

I think they could have squeezed a few more policemen in to the photo. There's room for improvement.

Wonder how many expats will be begging to try to reach 800,000 baht ?

Real heroes, caught a bunch of fake chinese beggars. ????

I sincerely hope that they get the full measure of pleasure in spending 30 days in a Thai jail, that's in addition to the 10,000 Bhat fine. May have to give day passes so they can beg for the 10K fine.

This is only the tip of PRC iceberg.

There is more crime, corruption, economic disruption and social conflict coming.
The YT videos of Chinese Misbehaving are [not] funny.
