Capt. Ekkachai Pengjan, left, stands Sunday next to an investigator by a car he was accused of breaking into at the police headquarters in Bangkok.

BANGKOK — A security police officer was caught red-handed breaking into another officer’s car and stealing properties of the Royal Thai Police headquarters in Bangkok, police said Sunday.

Capt. Ekkachai Pengjan of the Special Branch Police – tasked with intelligence gathering – was charged with theft and expelled yesterday after the car owner caught him in the act at the parking lot early in the morning, at which point the car’s windows were already broken, a police spokesman said.

Even stealing from their own now, bloody disgraceful, sack him, jail him.

Intelligence gathering !!!! He is still trying to find his own and he won't find much Intelligence in a Thai policemans' vehicle, empty or occupied.

These guys must be seriously underpaid ....<deleted>

Times must be getting tough in Thailand, police now getting into theft form vehicles.

The guy's task was to gather intelligence. After all, he is Special Branch Police and therefore needs intelligence badly. He must have found one left behind in that cop's car. So, he broke the window to let the intelligence out, maybe to try it on and see if it would fit him...

Good cops in - Bad cops out..???

Where is the inactive post gone looks to be very harsh treatment????

You seem shocked.

Excellent !!   Good cops in !!!  BAD cops Out !!!   needs repeating....

I feel another hub coming on.

“The Commissioner found it unacceptable and definitely won’t support a person who commited a crime inside the police headquarters with no respect for the laws and honor of the police,” Kritsana said.

So everywhere else is okay?

Nah! It will be a transfer to an inactive post.

Isn't that a Motorcycle Taxi Jacket? How many jobs, Police Captain, Taxi driver, thief, maybe not enough to send money "upstairs".

What a numpty

If they did that to all of the crooks in the RTP there would be no RTP. He might get a promotion for innovation and setting the new standard.

Guess he won't be driving to his inactive post.

Now.... if he was caught stealing OUTSIDE of the Police HQ, then that would have been entirely different matter. Might even have cost him a day or two in an inactive post....

He sure did gathering some stuffs but not intelligent.
