Thailand's first McDonald's was actually located at Amarin Plaza.

I remember it opening and it was then the Sogo shopping centre

Yes, Sogo Department Store was located in that building and Khun Det had his offices upstairs in the office tower.  During the setup period he put all the foreign McDonald’s staff up at the Regent, where I was working at the time, so I got to know him quite well over the years.

I stand corrected. Can't remember if I have ever eaten in that one. I've probably had an average of one Mc a week for the last 30 years. Never once upset my stomach unlike some places I could mention.

I taught English to housekeeping staff at the Regent around 1985/86. The use of the staff canteen and "yesterday's" pastries meant it was unnecessary to eat elsewhere!

The pastries and desserts which often came down after banquet events were quite nice and very fattening.

To be grammatically correct they should have, though!:-

"A gentlemen's club, or traditional gentlemen's club, is a private social club originally set up by and for British upper-class men in the 18th century," ("Gentlemens Club" is actually the name of a UK band!)

And "Ladies Room" should be spelled "Ladies' Room" to be correct (as the word "Ladies" is plural, the apostrophe goes at the end.

You're welcome! Signed, "Grammar Police"! ????

A Ladies Room is a room for ladies to use, so the word ladies here is purely adjectival, not possessive. No apostrophe. The ladies do not own the room. Kids Club the same. A Gentlemens Club nowadays is probably not owned by the said gentlemen. Thanks for the chance to explain. Apostrophes are the very devil anyway, for most people!

Grammar and punctuation are the least of our concerns with TWTWTWIT. The content, or lack of it, is more problematic as Rooster made no mention of the major political upheaval which took place during the previous week...

I see you're well named. ????

OK, serious face on then: "I don't really give a flying one". I don't read Rooster for his political opinion. And this saga will be ongoing so if you really need to know what he thinks, maybe next week? ????

I say chaps, one should not demean one self because of a dispute in phonetics and grammar.

One should surely not have to post this. The Queen.
