Commerce Ministry, Hong Kong to discuss economic expansion

BANGKOK, 25th February 2019 (NNT) - The Ministry of Commerce will welcome representatives in the public and private sectors from Hong Kong this week. on February 27th and 28th, 2019.

The Deputy Minister of Commerce, Chutima Bunyapraphasara, said the Chief Executive of Hong Kong, Carrie Lam, will lead a group of delegates from Hong Kong’s public and private sectors to Thailand on February 27th and 28th, 2019.

They are scheduled to meet with the Deputy Prime Minister, Dr. Somkid Jatusripitak, who is in charge of economic affairs.

The group will also participate in an activity to establish “Thailand-Hong Kong Strategic Partnership”, organized by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) in collaboration with related agencies.

The two sides have agreed on a number of joint initiatives. One of them is an initiative to give Thailand more access to Hong Kong as a route to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), which will take effect soon.
