EC might order for removal of 50 pieces of defamatory content online

BANGKOK, 1 March 2019 (NNT) - The Election Commission (EC) is yet to consider having 50 pieces of defamatory content online removed.

 

EC Secretary General Jarungwit Phumma visited the center for clues and complaints about alleged election frauds and monitors news related to electoral campaigns of various parties.

 

He visited the electronic campaign management center which watches out for online defamation of electoral candidates and political parties with false statements under Section 73 (5) of the MP Election Act. The EC can order those who may have posted defamatory content to remove them.

 

He said the EC will consider ordering the removal of the 50 defamatory postings.
