Cambodia plans to close all unofficial border crossings

PHNOM PENH: Interior Minister Sar Kheng has renewed his demand that officials close all unauthorised entry points to Cambodia to prevent human and drug trafficking and other transnational crimes.

Speaking at a ground-breaking ceremony for the new Poipet border checkpoint on Monday, he said unauthorised checkpoints lacked competent officials and provided no benefits, according to a report.

“We open many international border checkpoints and bilateral gates,” Mr Kheng said.

ThaiVisa, c'est aussi en français

ThaiVisa, it's also in French

will this affect border runs?

I very much doubt it. All visa runs need to go through authorised entry points to get legit stamps.

Is he saying, "Get off yer butts and do yer job?"

More likely saying I'm.not getting any kick backs from non official crossing points
