Interesting to report the intended plans after the military officers have already put in place as deputy governors. Interesting times indeed...

Looks to me like their plans to keep order will backfire.

Rural Thais wont stand for military rule expanding after being promised a quick end to this at the start of the coup.

Seems they will be creating targets out of these guys, someone to vent anger onto in the rural provinces.

In my opinion this will only serve to incite unrest and violence.

I pray it doesn't.

Its the army's turn to get their snouts in the trough. Watch things deteriorate rapidly; most of these fossils aren't even good at being soldiers.

They're introducing a military fascist state down there without a second though as to what the reaction will be. I wonder how long until this plan falls apart or how many get assassinated.

People should know their limitations and be content with them. Too much ambition results in promotion to a job you can't do, and remember You have to be 100% behind someone, before you can stab them in the back.

In Thailand age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability.

They have already hinted that they will not be ready for elections in October. They have also just said that the constitution that is being written will more than likely be the longest ever in the world. They have no intension of giving up power just yet and they certainly want to make sure that when they do leave enough of their people are in positions of power that they continue to have significant influence.

A new constitution is the last thing thats needed, there is nowthing wrong with the last one, and a new one will be no different simply because a constitution is useless if it is ignored by those in power and there is no one or no institution willing to hold them accountable for their actions.

As seen from afar this little powerplay from the "temporary" government smells of foul play. What benefit is there to appoint these miltary officers to all provinces unless it is to thwart any rumblings of another coup, by an increased miltary presence throughout the country, or by splitting up groups of officers who may themselves be a threat to the CNS.

Whatever the reason, it seems like one more little step towards big trouble in Thailand.
