The Election Commission (EC) said today that reporting of the unofficial election results, using the Rapid Reporting system and released on election night, were accurate although attempts to hack the system were detected.

The EC’s Office said that the Rapid Reporting system was jointly developed by the EC’s Office and the Digital Government Development Agency, a public organization, for use by election officials at different polling units to speed up the reporting of local counts to the EC’s central office after polls close.

During the initial stage of reporting, the EC said that there were some discrepancies in the information due to the fact that a huge amount of data was streamed simultaneously. However, the system developer rectified the problem immediately and the central database was not affected.

Surely they should have known a huge amount of data would be transmitted at the same time, i.e. the hours after the polling stations closed.

Why do I somehow feel that this is just lies to support previous lies?

You may be over estimating the intellectual power possessed by the EC.

I see students are being told they can’t campaign on university campus grounds at Kaset as they try to sign a petition for an impeachment of the EC.

And in other news, the pro-junta party are fed up of being called the “anti-democratic” party. They’re all for democracy as they entered a democratic election.

‘Democracy’ - Thailand’s most misused buzzword ever.

Well I suppose given that a large swathe of supposed 1st world citizens residing in the US don't grasp the true meaning of democracy it is a stretch to think Thais are capable given their history over the millennia

What an absolute mess of a country. Can always count on Thais to turn anything into a soap opera. Such an entertaining nation of people.

Starting to see a lot of photo evidence of misdemeanours re votes, ballots etc.

I think a lot of ballots were added using false/dead names and a lot were thrown away.

Plastic boxes from the 20 baht shop for collecting the ballot papers. No locks, no safety measures etc Give me a break

Just heard 500,000 people have signed petition against electoral commissioner
