Norwegian Man Arrested For Molesting Girl

On 3rd March Mr. Niels Colov – CEO of Pattaya People Media Group was requested to go to Pattaya Police Station to be an interpreter for a Norwegian man who was arrested for molesting an under aged girl.

Mr. Ole Reinert Waage, aged 62, from Norway, married Mrs. Nipha 3 years ago. She has a daughter from a previous marriage and they all lived together at the Center Condo.

Early in January, Mr. Waage, molested the girl, Miss Urai, aged 16, by constantly touching her behind, which her mother witnessed and had an argument with him about this incident. Not long after, on the 9th of January, Mr. Waage, molested the girl again by going into her bedroom to kiss and touch her.

Mrs. Nipha went in to find them again and saved her daughter from this inappropriate behavior. Then Mr. Waage, declared that if he could not have sex with her daughter then they both should move out of the condo.

This they did and then went to the police station to make a police report and press charges. Mrs. Nipha is now demanding 2 million Baht as compensation since her daughter is still young, studying, and she is currently unemployed.

An arrest warrant was issued and Mr. Waage was arrested on 2nd of March at his room in Center Condo. Since Mr. Waage couldn’t understand English, he needed a Scandinavian interpreter to explain the charges, which he later understood and agreed.

The man was bailed out for 150,000 Baht on that day and requested 2 months to find the amount of 2 million Baht to pay to his wife for her to withdraw her charges on him, which they all agreed on.

IMHO financial reimbursement should not allow charges like these to be dropped.

What's the message? Come to Thailand and do what you like, if you are caught pay a fine.

exactly, always the same, the poor go to jail and the rich literally get away with murder.

Correct 100 %

The list over the years of high profile offenders of the many crimes they,ve committed, yet i for one cannot recall any of them serving time or paying the ultimate price in the case of murder ect.

What an example to set for the less priviledged, and people wonder why there is so much criminality going on and the " if you can do it, then that,s o.k. and so can I " mentality.

As for the Norwegian guy, without wanting to defend him in any way what so ever, AND I,M NOT !!!!!!!!!

I cannot but think there is more to this than is being published / declared.

No way should anybody be able to buy their freedom, but, sadly i have to quote " TIT "

What a ******* farce Thai justice is and it,s 2 tier punishment system.

did he admit to the charges , or was he being pragmatic by paying 2 million to avoid going to court , being found guilty and going to gaol as a result of accusations which , for all we know , could be completely false.

it kinda worked for michael jackson didn't it?

one can re-offend after jail time and/or after paying a fine. either way, both are penalties society meeds out. if you don't pay accumulated parking tickets, most have the option of jail time. it goes both ways and here he gets to choose his penalty. leave it at that.
