Now that the military junta have changed the 800K rule, in that it must be shown to be in your Thai Baht bank account three months before applying for the retirement visa, when is the accompanying bank letter supposed to be dated? I had been advised by the bank to have a letter issued at that time, almost three months ago, when I transferred at a loss of interest due, from my foreign currency account to my Thai Baht account, which doesn't pay any interest. Would it be prudent to go back to the bank the day before I return to immigration for renewal of the O visa, and have yet another letter issued? After all, I could have spent that amount (easily where I live) in the past three months and have nothing left in my account.

Anyone with any RECENT experience, please advise.

Immigration laws have nothing to do with the military - it is a police function. Bank letters should be current within the week of use. The letter should match exactly the amount in your account.

But I don't use that method; so do not have recent experience.
