Best Place To Do White Water Rafting In Thailand

Featured Replies

hi everyone, im heading over to thailand again in 6 months and wanted to find out the best place for white water rafting over there, last time we went from phuket onto the main land about a 2 hour drive i think and that was quite good but im keen to try another place this time

i like big rapids if there are different categories over there, the ones we went on were rating up to 4 and that was fun but im after something alittle more scary

would chiang mai have better white water rafting?

who has done it and where was it, also any pics would be awesome

thanks vaughn

you should go up to cave lodge, in soppong (between pai and mae hong son). they can arrange fabulous white water rafting trips which will take you almost all the way to mae hong son.

you can google cave lodge and see what they have to offer.

looks good thanks for that mate

mite be a bit far from our accomodation in chiang mai, 4 hours drive each way but we will see

we are staying in bangkok, chiang mai, koh samui and phuket

is there closer places or is the 4 hour drive worth the trip

thanks again people

dont waste your time coming north in the hot dry season - no water.

Op says he's heading over to Thailand in 6 months time which will make it September,

end of the wet season, I imagine that's probably the best time for white water?

watch the forecasts for rain for your times in each area .. and work from there ....

overnighting in Pai or elsewhere would be a nice break from the places on your list

Oops, you're right 6 months time.

In that case the Pai & Mae Taeng & Wa rivers should all be ok.
