I didn't know about this, so I thought there might be others who don't.

This is what it looks like

So if you get one of these, don't worry it is legal tender

Just for comparison, the "old" note which is being phased out:

I hope Tony Blair is not planning to phase out the Scottish pound...

Could be Gordon's first step towards phasing out the English pound ;-)

Not just a pretty face, Adam Smith is a big favorite of right wingers, incidentally.

Now what we need is our beloved 100 pound note back...taken out of circulation in 1943 because of Adolf.

If the Scots can have them why can't we Brits .

Sorry, George - I'll need to ask a mod to close this as it's not Thai related :o:D

It may not be Thai related but as I am sitting on nearly 2K of 20 pound notes here in Bangkok (forgot to take my Thai bank details on my last UK visit) I am grateful for the info.

'Current £20 notes, featuring English composer Edward Elgar, will be phased out over the coming months'

Thanks

Looks crap to me, I prefer the old one, this looks more like a euro.

Anyway, why can't we have some fit Briton on our notes like Catherine Zeta Jones and not that old munter?

In the 80's there used to be a 10 pound note that if you folded it right looked as if the Queen was giving a BJ.

Lesse Majeste. Off to the Tower with you!!
