webfact
Kunlavut wins more glory for Thailand in Asian junior badminton Kunlavut Vitidsarn and his coach By The Nation World junior No 1 Kunlavut Vitidsarn thrashed local hope Liu Liang of China 21-14 21-13 to become the first Thai player to win a gold at the Badminton Asia Junior Championships in Suzhou, China on Sunday. It was the second major success for the 19-year-old rising star five days after winning a historic gold in the mixed team event. The two-time world junior champion thus made amends for his loss in the final to Lakshya Sen of India in the championships 12 months ago in Jakarta. The teenager, however, has to recover quickly for the Toyota Thailand Open, which starts at Hua Mark Indoor Stadium in Bangkok on Tuesday. He plays the first qualifying match against Soong Joo Ven of Malaysia.
