Can anybody helop me to help a friend of mine with this question or rather questions.....?

I have a friend coming to Phuket without a VISA using excempt, he is like me swedish getting 30 days....

 

He wishes to end up with an extension of stay based on retirement and need to go through either Non Immigrant O or conversion from Tourist-VISA via Non Imm O to extension at Phuket Immigration office.  Do they even do that conversaion at that office????

 

And living in Phuket what is the best passage over to neighbouring country to buy these VISA, he/I do not know any passages or bordercontrols so we are very happy to any input you might have.
