I will be going to Vietianne to apply for a non b visa at the end of September. Does anyone know how far in advance I would need to book an appointment online to secure a place?

Perhaps you might consider going online and seeing what dates are available. Seems pretty easy.

I have had a quick look but was concerned of locking myself into a specific time as I'm waiting on documents which apparently won't come until the end of September. As such, I was just looking for a ball park figure as previous posts on the forum mentioned 2 weeks plus.

Appointments for non immigrant visas are normally available within a week or less most of the time.

You can apply to Vientiane, up-to ONE month in advance, any more and you get a notice saying ''Schedule not available''.
This usually guarantees you a low queue number !
