Permanent Secretary for Industry Ministry, Pasu Loharjun: File photo

A total of 205 factories have been placed on the watchlist of the Industry Ministry for allegedly having tendency to discharging industrial waste into public areas, said permanent secretary Pasu Loharjun yesterday (September 23).

Inspections of these facilities have been planned between September and November, of which 12 are located in Bangkok and 193 elsewhere , he added.

24 of the 205 are waste treatment plants with the remainder (181) being waste-generating manufacturers.

Pasu said those found discharging waste into public areas would have to foot the bill for the treatment of toxic substances coming from their locations.

what they were doing.

In Indonesia we used to put the inspector in a resort/hotel with all amenities including hot and cold running chambermaids and deliver his samples to him, so he could take them back to the lab. We were in full compliance.

Only 205 !

There are many Thousands of Business,s that are " Dumping Waste " onto the land, and into Water Courses.

Every recycle business will dump its waste that has no value. And by Dumping, its not just throwing it into a Field , it also is burnt and dissolved in Acids.

And I mean every guy with a pickup truck, every guy with a Tuk-Tuk, and probably the guys that clear your trash from your Moo-Ban or Condo.

Thailand has a really huge issue with waste Management. Thats why they are rated as NO 6 on the Planet for Pollution.
