The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued a warning to the public of being tricked by unauthorised parties into digital asset investment.

Several online and social media-based advertisement invite people to invest in digital assets with some even showing pictures of the SEC office, it said.

The watchdog added that people could check on the SEC website (www.sec.or.th) if the advertisers are registered brokers, dealers or other parties which have received authorisation form the SEC.

Are those romance scammers, with the SEC picture on their facebook pages, unauthorised?

Today I reported a digital currency come-on on my FB feed. It had a picture of Taksin so I hardly needed to skim the text. I wonder if he could sue them? Or is he them?

This scam has been on FB for about 6 months now, Many people have reported it, FB does nothing. It has featured places like Singapore and people like Bill Gates. FB seems happy to take the money for the advert.

Yes, be wary of people offering you 1,000 baht
