Young Volunteer - Hua Hin

Featured Replies

My son is studying Internaitonal Relations in Hua Hin, he is an under-grad, and is coming up for his three months summer break.

I am trying to help him find suitable volunteer opportunities in Hua Hin, where he can put something back into the community, while gaining experience relevant to his degree course.

He is a native English speaker, so I thought perhaps he could help out at a local secondary school teaching English. He is articulate, kind and thoughtful. But emotionally, I know without doubt he could not handle working with orphans or animals.

If anyone has any ideas, suggstions or contacts, I would be most grateful for your reply. Thanks to all.

PS NR you are still in my thoughts and prayers. Hang in.

Well, that puts paid to my first suggestion - Mercy House Orphanage in Pranburi. OK, other than that, why doesn't he try contacting Somtawin & Salesian to see whether they can use an assistant teacher for a couple of months. Another option might be my son's kindergarten (Pratthana nursery & kindergarten, near Hin Nam Sai Suay). They do an English "programme" & might be able to use a volunteer teacher for a while. Hope that helps. I'll have a search on my very disorganised desk & see if I can come up with some phone no's. If I can, I'll pm you. :o
