webfact
"Locked finger" is the least of your worries - physio warns of rise in student smart phone injuries Picture: Manager online A physiotherapist has warned that young Thais are increasingly suffering from various ailments that could be attributable to smart phone usage. A condition known in Thai as "niw lock" or locked finger is just one problem. Mahidol university physio Jutiporn Thammajaree talked to Manager about several other conditions known as Tennis Elbow, Golfer's elbow and De Quervain's Disease - a painful wrist condition. She said such problems were on the rise among students because of repetitive actions associated with accessing today's technology. She advised changing your position every 30 to 40 minutes. YTP
As someone else has mentioned, I would be more concerned with the people glued to their phones crossing the street, especially with all the drivers with their attention also fixed on their phones. How about the people that find it necessary to play with their phones while walking up and down stairs?
