Is there a way for her to learn the keys on the keyboard? we have qwertyuiop etc, it takes her too long to type so she doesn't try. any ideas? Answers in phasa thai so she can read please. Can you imagine how hard it was for her to type in Thai without being able to see where the characters are? If you can change to Thai, then try this and you will not need pictures or a new keyboard for Thai because you may already have one Start | Run | type in "osk" without the quotes. Click OK You should get the on screen keyboard. . When you want to type in Thai, just change the EN in the system tray to Th. The On screen keyboard will automatically adjust. I have to go get new keyboard stickers but no time to make my way to one of the computer malls.. Boon Mee Posted June 17, 2004 Share Posted June 17, 2004 I just loaded Windows XP Pro - the Thai version, and it's got a little "toggle" where you can convert from English to Thai and you don't need to switch keyboards. Tornado Posted June 18, 2004 Share Posted June 18, 2004 my wife uses a program that is quite brilliant, the name is "Computer Time 2001". It shows the keys on the screen. You do not look at the keyboard at all as the keys on the screen "light up" so as you know where to put your fingers...... she went from being a computer dummy, to a computer "fast typer" in about 1 month. The program also allows you do the same in English. she is now up to about 40 words per min in only 3 months. Well, I don't consider myself that versed in Thai at all.. like anything I guess - the furthur you go, the furthur you realise you have to go. I did actually recently accomplish finishing my first Thai novel though.. well actually a French novel translated to Thai.. Le Petit Prince. or เจ้าชายน้อย . I must say I had the dictionary out a bit. and I probably absorbed most of 80% of it. Enjoyed reading it actually. Just gotta keep up the practice now. ...
