Retirement Extention-Income Method-Phetchabun

Just a quick report on my retirement extension completed today at Phetchabun using the monthly income method.

Apart from having to wait 4 hours everything went smoothly(almost)!

For anyone contemplating using the income, method at Phetchabun the following might be useful.

1. I collected all the necessary paperwork including the various declarations a month ago when I did a 90 day report.

2. Bangkok Bank supplied me with two letters, the first detailing the FTT(Overseas transfers) for the last year and secondly one stating it was my account with an up to date balance. I collected these from the bank prior to going to Immigration. I attached photocopies of each page of my passbook(not a printed statement) to support the bank letter. BTW the income letter took 4 working days to complete, so may not have been done locally.

3. Other Documents: Copies of all pages of my passport, a map showing where the house is, both mine and my wife's house book, her ID card, arrivals card and 90 day report slip.

The only glitch was that my December pensions didn't arrive in my Thai bank until 2/1/20(Bank Holiday 31-1 Jan). So the letter did not show a payment in December. The IO spotted this but I showed her a copy of a TRANSFERWISE PDF receipt which showed that my December pensions had left the UK on 30/12/19. The officer accepted this. However I intend to alter the dates of transfers to the 2nd/3rd of the month this year!

The office at Phetchabun has a new toy(several) in the form of fingerprint readers. It took several attempts for the IO to copy my prints as the technology/software seemed a bit dodgy.

Overall a fair experience apart from the wait. They were processing loads of migrant workers from other ASEAN countries at the same time.
