Pareena not out of the woods in encroachment case

 

 

Veera Somkwamkid, an anti-corruption activist, posted on his Facebook account that Palang Pracharath MP Pareena Kraikupt is still at risk of being charged for encroachment into a national forest in Ratchaburi province.

 

The Agricultural Land Reform Office (ALRO) announced that Pareena had returned the land in question to the office and the charge was dismissed. Local officials in Ratchaburi province have yet to measure and allocate the land to qualified farmers as intended, it said.

 

However, ALRO was responsible for monitoring the national forest under the instruction of the Royal Forest Department. Thus, it must impose a fine on.

  

Pareena for encroaching into the area according to Agricultural Land Reform Act 1975 Section 24, otherwise ALRO would have violated Penal Code Section 157.

 

The case also falls into the juridication of the Natural Resources and Environmental Crime Division (NRECD) which has not decided if Pareena would be charged. 

 

Social activist Srisuwan Chanya said Pareena was not qualified to own the land, reasoning that she was not a farmer or had an monthly income less than Bt30,000. 

 

She must be considered as violating the law, Srisuwan added.

Disgusting. All involved in the aiding and abetting of this ghastly parasite are equally as abominable.

 

How can yoi steal something, profit massively from it, and then just hand it back with no recourse whatsoever. Utterly shameful, she should be punished as the law actually prescribes.

Agree with the post above. Had this been a member of the opposition they'd already be in court and more. Unfortunately for the opposition they don't have Wissanu, who decides who's broken the law and who hasn't. No need for a judge when it comes to the coalition and their alleged crimes.

So, given the "punishment" there is zero incentive to not chance the law and encroach of land, make some money and when (if) you get caught, just give it back.

 

Theft, fraud and using public land to make money...and zero punishment.

This ia Thailand people! Same things happening right next to me on public land. 

A couple officials lost jobs but still people are farming illegally with no one giving a hoot. Its even had the case sent to the very top asking the PM to intervene but will never happen. Nobody cares about equality here.

The politicians are all at it and will continue to be until the Coalition puts open bias aside and stops the corruption they accused Thaksin of. Heres a sister , a deputy minister of Education , no less, doing similiar at Khao Yai.. It has to stop !

I recall that those that had encroached onto forest land with resorts had to remove the structures or alternatively pay for them to be removed. No mention of the occupier removing the structures here. Has she just walked off leaving it to someone else to sort out ???
