Thai National - 6 Month Rule Entering Thailand?

Featured Replies

Hi All. Does anyone know if the 6 month passport rule applies for a Thai national entering back into Thailand.

To be brief, I'm taking my son back to the UK in March, returning in April. He has a UK passport which is all good, however his Thai passport expires in July this year. Is it an issue for him getting back into Thailand.

I wouldn't think it would be as this is his home country, however I would like to double check and I can't find any info on this.

Thanks in advance.

No problem. He could use it even if expired.

Migration law generally doesn't apply to citizens of a country being entered. You can't be refused entry to your own country as long as you can prove your citizenship. A valid passport is the obvious means to do so. It certainly doesn't have to hold long validity.

just don't use his uk passport to enter Thailand
