Visa Exempt Stamp transfer to new Passport

Featured Replies

Hi

Anyone done recently in Bangkok? What's the cost and procedures involved to transfer a Visa Exempt Stamp from a damaged passport to a new passport?

Thanks

It’s free. You complete a transfer application form, and you need a letter from the issuing embassy confirming you have new passport.

The don’t usually transfer VE stamps at immigration offices. Usually you present both passports on exit from the country and they do the transfer then.

I plan to extend the 30 days for another 30 days. So I think I'd need to do it at Immigration.

Any experience?

Thanks

You will need to do it at a immigration office. They will do both during the same trip to immigration.

In that case you can do the transfer and extension on the same day. If you're using Chaengwattana immigration office you will almost certainly need two separate queue tickets. The first one to arrange the transfer and a second for the extension. If you talk to the staff at the desk in the entrance hall they will advise you how to proceed.

Get to Chaengwattana fairly early in the day. The whole process should be easy, but may be time consuming.
