Retirement Visa Bank Accounts

Featured Replies

Me and my husband transferred our work permits to retirement visas with the help of sunbelt in January. At that time we had joint bank accounts. After being granted the visas On sunbelt advice we changed them into two accounts each in our names only for renewal at the end of the year.

A few queries please:

If 800,000 is left in my account for a year and not touched is that ok under immigration rules for the renewal. ? The transfer from overseas accounts which make up that amount were made in November 2005 and August 2006.???

My husbands account will have 800,000 transferred from overseas three months prior to renewal later this year.

We were granted our visas with just one amount of 800,000 baht . Our marriage certificate was needed for this and certified from our embassy.

Can you let me know if with the cancellation of joint accounts will we both need to have 800,000 baht to be granted visas on renewal or will one amount suffice???

Thanks for your help anyone.

As long as the account has 800k it should fly.

If only one account used there should only be one extension marked for retirement. The other should be a dependent extension of stay. If you both want the "retirement" mark you should both have accounts at 800k or have 65k pension or combination. But the normal method is one person obtains retirement and the spouse obtains dependent extensions of stay.
