The Thailand Meteorological Department forecast on Saturday (March 28) that a thermal low covers upper Thailand while the southerly and the southeasterly winds prevail over the Northeast and the East regions.

Hot conditions still prevail over most of upper Thailand while very hot weather is forecast for some parts of the North, the Northeast and the Central regions. Outbreaks of thundershowers and gusty winds are forecast for the Northeast and the East. People should beware of severe weather by keeping off unsecured buildings and outdoor places. Farmers should beware of crop damage.

The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows:

Northern region: Hot to very hot; temperature lows of 18-25 degrees and highs of 38-41 degrees Celsius.

Northeastern region: Hot to very hot with thundershowers in some areas; temperature lows of 22-26 degrees and highs of 36-40 degrees Celsius.

Central region: Hot to very hot; temperature lows of 24-26 degrees, highs of 37-40 degrees Celsius.

Eastern region: Hot with thundershowers and gusty winds in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 25-28 degrees, highs of 33-38 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high.

Southern region (east coast): Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 23-27 degrees, highs of 33-36 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high.

Southern region (west coast): Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 24-26 degrees, highs of 35-38 degree Celsius; waves a metre high and more than a metre offshore.

Bangkok and surrounding areas: Hot during the day; temperature lows of 26-27 degrees, highs of 34-39 degrees Celsius.

Chiang Mai desperately in need of wind and rain. The smog is much more dangerous than the virus. Government inaction is slow;y killing generations.

Hot like hell with the most horrendous air pollution on the planet makes for a truly memorable holiday experience.????

Ventusky weather radar shows rain over Vietnam, and Phnom Phen. Nothing over Thailand so I assume this forecast is fake news.

Just north of Chiang Mai past week or so max 34c. That's not "hot" yet - wait for April 40+

The Nation has ran this same story/photo for the past 3 weeks. Still haven't seen a drop of rain in Chiang Mai. If they publish the story every week for next 2 months they should get lucky 1 week...

Accurate forecast for the NE, we've had a few thundershowers in North Isaan.

Weather as accurate as can be expected where I am, today first day to hit 40°c ???? TMD does a good job with the resources they have ????

Ventusky has the "prettiest" graphics! but there forecasting is dismal, they use poor (cheap) modelling, Windy (https://www.windy.com/-Rain-thunder-rain?rain,17.382,102.799,11 ) more accurate as they use a better more accurate "modelling" supplied by EEC.
