Popular Post webfact Posted April 1, 2020 Popular Post Share Posted April 1, 2020 Koh Samui/Koh Tao/Koh Phangan: Covid 19 regulations ramped up Picture: Koh Tao Police Station Surat Thani governor issued regulations to control the spread of Covid-19 in his province including the closure of convenience stores at night, social distancing measures and mask wearing. In addition anyone entering Koh Tao must have extra documentation and go into 14 day quarantine as well. Picture: Koh Tao Police Station Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao are all in the province. Governor Wichawut Jinto threatened jail terms and large fines for violators of the regulations that are mirroring others throughout Thailand. They include the shutting of large stores except for supermarkets, pharmacies and essential items. Markets are also shut except for food supplies. Restaurants and bars can only offer takeaway facilities. Hotel restaurants are for guests only. Restaurants in airports and hospitals can serve food but must practice social distancing. Convenience stores are to shut from midnight to 5am. People who go into convenience stores must stand one meter at least from the counter. Gel must be supplied to patrons. Everyone in the stores must wear masks including customers. To visit Koh Tao travelers must present two documents to the boat company - a health certificate issued in the last three days and a "Koh Tao Entry Request Form". Anyone visiting the island must go into 14 day quarantine. These regulations apply from today. Sources: PR.
