Amazing Thailand! Please arrest me officer, I'm drunk and I need a rest in the cells

Sanook reported that a thirty seven year old Thai construction worker called Jetsada walked into Samed police station in Muang district of Chonburi and asked to be breathalyzed for DUI.

He explained that he had just consumed a full bottle of 40 degree spirits and had crossed the road from his building site opposite.

"But you just walked here," said an incredulous Pol Major Sakda Pinyophap. "And you haven't been creating a disturbance. How can I arrest you?"

Jetsada explained that he was upset with his employer and needed a rest.

He hoped very much that the police could arrest him, give him some much needed downtime in the cells and make his employer front up the bail money.

Major Sakda, speaking from behind a mask and visor, said sorry, that was not possible at this time.

Jetsada was allowed to sit out his drunkenness for a bit, calm down then sent back across the road.

The cop said this had never happened at Samed station before.

555 40 degree spirit.. the conversation would like something Inspector clouseau would say to his boss Chief Inspector Charles LaRousse Dreyfus...

Love it, especially the employer/ bail money thing!????

Only in Thailand/TIT!!????

This is truly amazing, he’s probably stressed out. Also, He’s planning to have a place to sleep and feed him. Therefore, he forfeits his liberty.

Major Sakda, speaking from behind a mask and visor, said, "Go back, kill your boss, then we can talk about it more."  ????

Was that 40 degree bottle of spirits,or 40% alcohol,the latter I'd imagine.

Must have been sitting in the sun that bottle.

turning around , dropping his strides and showing the Major his own sheriff's badge might've done the trick ..

I'm aware of that! Hardly a day when you expect journalists to be unaware!

Read TWTW on Sunday for more comments about April Fools.

I was pleased with my banning of "Connect Four"" in Pattaya a couple of years back.

I always have believed strongly in getting a sucker, and we entrapped a few that day.

Though the point has to be that such an April Fool as that has a lot of basis in fact in Thailand and besides, any reasonable person reading Thaivisa on a daily basis is often obliged to glance at their calendar to make sure if it is actually September or June.
