chevykanteve
I've been using TVU Player for months now, and love it. Are there other, similar players available for free download?
richard10365
Try this one. <removed> Free movies, tv series, cartoons and more. You will love this site. Edited April 17, 2007 by Totster See forum rules regarding file sharing
bkk_mike
You could try signing up for Joost (although it's still in beta, so you might have a bit of a wait before you get on...) Admittedly, it assumes you have 1Mb download / 512Kb upload, so it's rather jerky in Thailand.

Reason for edit: See forum rules regarding file sharing With all due respect to the mods.....I checked out the "forum rules" and looked for "file sharing". There is nothing there. You might want to add a "file sharing" to the "forum rules" The link I posted has nothing to do with file sharing. It links to a website that lets you watch TV programs, movies, and such. It's not like we're talking about farangs farming or anything like that.

I don't think the link I posted is a file sharing site. Tv shows and movies (brand new movies at that) are being uploaded to be shared with others. Even though the content is streamed (rather than having to be downloaded) , it is still IMO the same as file sharing. totster

I respect the mods opinions. It does; however, raise an interesting question. If we were talking about audio files, such as MP3s streaming over the internet from Winamp. If the source of the broadcast was not a licensed broadcaster (how would we know?), would that be illegal as well? I apoligize if I am taking this discussion in the wrong direction. Well, online radio stations are different, we have to assume they are paying their dues to the artists as all radio stations are required. We have to use some common sense, if you are able to just stream an MP3 music track on it's own from a source which does not look official then I think it's safe to say it could be dodgy. The fact of the matter is that a site showing brand new movies and TV series in the way the site you linked to does is not doing it with permission. totster
chevykanteve
We need to create a separate forum on this website with a name like Inner-Forum Gladiators. The forum could be used for moderators and users to engage in personal combat with each other. Just kidding, guys! Now, back to the original question: I've been using TVU Player for months now, and love it. Are there other, similar players available for free download? bkk_mike
Personally - I don't know of anything better as a downloadable option than the TVU player. I am thinking of trying something out that might be better for me personally (and also fully legal), which is to get a slingbox, and hook it up to a freeview box in the UK (although this is because I'm in the odd situation of having a house in the UK, where I've got broadband set up for when I'm there). My UK broadband connection (cheaper and a LOT faster than my Thai one) has 1.3Mbps upload, so is easily fast enough for streaming out of, I'm just not sure, especially after trying Joost, if my Thai connection is up to receiving a stream from it... I have streamed small, jerky, video from the UK before, several years ago. but only tried that once, as, although it was just-about watchable (slow refresh rates, but the audio was OK), it was painful to set up. Streaming the picture from the video capture card in a PC hooked up to a Sky box using MSN of all things to watch (MSN treated the video capture card as a webcam). Admittedly if Skype had had a video service back then, it could easily have been a watchable picture too, but not really a viable option, due to the hassles of changing channels and setting things up... If I thought the broadband in Thailand was up to giving me good pictures from a Slingbox, I'd have already done this..., but I'm ever-hopeful that Thai broadband will improve...
