Big flies, spiders and other small to medium critters. Well worth having aroud your house to keep down the nasties. Can sometimes annoy when trying to find a mate but otherwise beautiful things

Do you mean a Tookae?

They eat insects, very useful animals.

yes seems another spelling of the same animal. They make load noise "Too-Kae, Too-Kae" can climb like Geckos, but much bigger.

They're noisy with their "tuk gai, tuk gai" calls ... legend says if you hear the call 7 times it brings luck.

They're quite aggressive beasts, useful or not, if I had one in my house I'd evict it.

Had one caught between my window and the screen, quite a good size. At that time I thought they were a harmless lizard and I had been watching too much Steve Irwin so I thought I would reach in and catch it. After it snapped and lunged at me two times I realized I had not idea what I was doing. Later read reports of the nasty bite and their tendency to not let go once they sink their teeth in you. So much for my "Tookae hunter" experience.

And I think after it bite you, you can direct start with antibiotics.....

But normally that ones I saw try to escape when you get close.

Tokay geckos (the official english name believe it or not) eat beetles, moths, geckos and mice (yes its true!) . They do have teeth but I have only ever seen them crush their prey to death.

Here is an interesting link that has quite a bit of info on them. http://www.anapsid.org/tokays.html

I have never been bothered by a Tokay since I leave them alone. They are very much of the "you leave me alone, I'll leave you alone" personality. And, unlike mice, will not run over you while you are sleeping. They hide in their corners and eat their food.

A bit off topic but--How to clean Tokae poop off of walls, and from behind pictures or whatever you have hanging on your wall where they like to hide?
