geovalin Posted September 3, 2020 Share Posted September 3, 2020 A Cambodian government official has reiterated that casino developments are not permitted in the “area” of Angkor Wat (pictured), in Siem Reap, which gives its name to a city and province in northwest Cambodia. Hong Kong-listed casino investor NagaCorp Ltd had said in its interim results filed on August 27 that it was planning to “explore viable and profitable IR development in [the] Siem Reap and Sihanoukville areas”. Burma Bill Posted September 4, 2020 Share Posted September 4, 2020 For reference:- there are no tall buildings/tower blocks in Siem Reap as nothing can be constructed higher than sacred Angor Wat - everything looks UP to Buddha, not down (unlucky)!! So no high rise Chinese hotels and casinos in Siem Reap - perhaps just low level ones no more than 5 floors high (the maximum) in the future.
