Hopefully it doesn't come to that extreme. Yes, Japan wasn't going to surrender any time soon, so the US thought by using nuclear it would stop them. It did, but killed many innocents. If the war would have gone on longer, many Americans and Japanese would have died, and there isn't any way to estimate that amount. War isn't going to be clean by any means, and civilians are always going to be killed, as the enemies live and hide amongst them, and the maniacal aren't caring for their citizens as much as they care about dominance and control. It isn't easy just to kill the leaders as they have followers, just like this terrorist regime has, and if you do, they might be replaced by more of the same, much like killing roaches. America has lost 18, along with a few planes. Iran has lost thousands, along with most of it's military capabilities, but they're crazy, so not likely to surrender just yet. They care little about their people, as their history has shown, so the only way to get them to negotiate is to keep taking away any capabilities they have, without harming the infrastructure so much. World Way 2 had cities destroyed, along with many civilians, so some aren't remembering what happened back then and are only looking at the negatives this war is showing, along with hatred towards Trump. You're either on the side of peace or terrorism,as it needs to be stopped in it's tracks before it gets too far. Terrorists are created daily in homes, like all other harmful behaviors, and it's hard to stop that individually, as that craziness is passed through generations with the only way through education of the young.
