November 16, 20205 yr Phnom Penh Municipal Court on Saturday issued summons for a further 68 ex-CNRP members and activists alleged to have been involved in national plotting and incitement. The order instructed all those named in the warrant to attend a hearing on November 26 to stand trial for plotting and incitement to commit crimes. In the meantime, the court has prohibited any gatherings of activists and former CNRP members outside of the former headquarters. located in Chak Angre Krom commune, Meanchey district. A statement from the court said: “CNRP activists are not allowed to assemble at the former CNRP headquarters. If they violate the law, they will be held accountable under Article 523 – “Discrediting judicial decisions” – of the Criminal Code. Amid the purported planned return of Sam Rainsy, nearly 130 senior leaders and activists of the court-dissolved CNRP have been summoned to attend the trial at the Phnom Penh Municipal Court over what the Ministry of Justice said was an attempt to overthrow the government.
