House timber for sale...

My partner has a house in the Roi Et province towards Yasothon.

We have now decided not to do anything more to maintain her old Thai style house and would like to sell the timber being roof rafters, uprights and first floor of which the majority is still good building material. As I understand it there are people that will pay to strip the house of the timber and take it away to reuse it.

Does anyone know who might be interested in buying our old home?

Thank you for any advice you can give us.

I can't help only confirm, the wife's mother sold her old home. Think she got 30,000 bht. There's folks who make a living buying old wood.

If it's teakwood, you could try to contact this guy: Faisal Malik Design on Facebook. I know he buys old teak from around the country. In what form, I don't know.

In our area, north of Phrae, the wood of an old house (teak) would usually be sold

at around 80KBaht. The buyer will do all the work dismantling the house and transporting the material.

Don't forget, wood is very expensive.   (even there doesn't seem to be a lobby)

If it's old and teak or red wood (mai daeng or mai braduu) then very, very ...

Teak might be better to sell/furniture, the others are very hard to work with.

But super durable too. - I think/hope, that this is correct.

Have you tried to sell via thaivisa.com - Classifieds?

Or bahtsold.com?

May be you should be a bit patient.

Good luck!

Sometime back (2012) a lady next door to the post office in Kap Choeng Surin had her house dismantled and then moved some 880 km to CNX. She had get permission from the Department of Forestry.
